Hey all, I am sorry for taking such a long hiatus from posting. I haven’t posted in somewhere near a month now, but I do still see traffic coming in to my site which is a great thing, it’s a shame that there wasn’t new content to look at. I decided to take a break from many things to re-focus on my school work and slow down the hustle and bustle. I was waiting for something to hit me that would cause me to come back, and that came in the form of an email saying that I most likely would not have my Winter job that I have held for 5 years, so if I want to get gifts and party next semester I need to keep the marketing going.
I was also spending this time trying to come up with an idea because I couldn’t think of anything to do with my current websites that was overly productive (except post on here obviously, but I never quite got around to that). I have been thinking of making a reviews website for qutie some time now, and I was trying to decide whether I should go for a large meta-portal that reviews many different things (utilizing subdomains) or whether to create many mini-sites, each focused in on a specific topic. For now the mini-site idea has won out.
My first mini-site will not be so mini by the time I am done. When it is all over, it should be about 4k pages almost all with content that I intend to write myself. It is a review of the “For Dummies” books, the domain is not yet finished but I will continue working on it later today and I am still waiting to get approved by their affiliate program (if this does not happen I will simply use Amazon links for now). The site is my first Joomla! powered site, so I am interested to see how simple it is to manage once I am done with it. For now it is a $110 investment, $10 for the domain and $100 for a program that allows me to write reviews, rate things, and overall make the site more beautiful than it’s current state. You can find it at: Reviews For Dummies, I feel that eventually I would be better off changing up the word order to “For Dummies” Reviews later on for SEO purposes but it gets the point across nonetheless.
I am a big fan of review sites, so I eventually plan to create hundreds of smaller review sites focusing in on specific topics, such as web hosting, books, movies, marketing tools, ebooks, etc.
I am glad to be back into the marketing arena, I am also looking forward to start reading up on some of the blatant changes Google has made in the past month to see how it is impacting marketers.
P.S. Thank you for pointing out that broken link, take a free link to your most recent post ![]()
