As I’m sure many of you have noticed, I have “Lucia’s Linky Love” set up on my blog which means that some of you will receive a “dofollow” link after you have made a few non-spammy posts using the same anchor text/website. Once you do this, it will go back through and remove the nofollow tags from your links. One thing to note, if your anchor text is over 20 characters you will not be eligible to receive a link back to your site, and I am far more likely to refuse your comment if you have a clearly SEO’d name.
I have enabled this to increase the level of conversation on my site and to give back to my readers, but realize that this is not a link farm. I take my work very seriously and I will not allow people to trounce over it with spam. If you write good comments, I may even give out a sitewide link in my blogroll from time to time, I won’t announce it, it will just happen. This is how karma works, if you are good, then good things will come of it.
Any comments such as “Aweosme post!” “Money Making Joe At Some Domain – http://www.myspammydomain.com” will obviously be deleted.
So what is required to get your comment out of the moderation queue?
- Comments that add to the discussion
- Links that are not pornographic, spyware, etc.
- Names with less than 20 characters
- 3+ Approved posts – Once this happens, all links turn dofollow by default.
If your comment doesn’t add to the discussion, I will be more than happy to remove it, this is a mutually beneficial system, so please don’t abuse it. Let’s get the comments flowing!
